Blake Friis

Storyteller. Activist. Loss Survivor.

Mama's Boy

Three days after his 13th birthday, Blake Friis' mother ended her life.

In his debut one-man show, Friis combines raw, emotional storytelling with relatable humor to take audiences on an intimate journey through life after suicide.

Mama’s Boy examines the stigmas around suicide, mental illness, and vulnerability, woven through the search for understanding, identity, and love.

Friis navigates a heavy emotional topic with surprising and refreshing humor throughout, helping to ensure Mama's Boy is a story about living.
